A point you can keep away from the hide, a belly with plenty of curve, and a handle that keeps your grip in one place. The drop point is the classic answer: the spine curves down to the tip, so the point sits low and the curved edge behind it does the work.

Which of our knives are drop points?

Five. The Deer Hunter is a straight drop point with a fuller down the blade. The Beast Hunter is a modified drop point with a raised rib down the centre of the blade and a deep groove for your index finger. The Predator Hunter, our patented design, is a modified drop point in walnut, olive wood or D2 steel.

Is a 5 inch blade too long for skinning?
