What is a tracker knife?

It is a pattern that puts several edge shapes into one blade, and you can see each of them. A straight run of edge sits close to the handle, where you have the most control. The edge then sweeps into a deep belly toward the tip. The spine is cut with notches or teeth, and a lug under the handle stops your hand sliding forward.

Tracker or Tracker D2?

The Tracker is 10 inches overall with a 5.3 inch Damascus blade and weighs 8.8 oz. The Tracker D2 is the big one: 12 inches overall, a 7 inch blade in D2 tool steel and 13.8 oz, the heaviest knife we make. Choose the Tracker if you want Damascus and a knife that carries easily. Choose the Tracker D2 if you want reach and weight.

Why a Micarta handle?

Micarta is layers of linen or canvas set in resin. It does not soak up water the way wood can, and it keeps a slightly textured feel in the hand. Both trackers use black Micarta scales held with lined pins, with finger grooves on the edge side.

Are tracker knives full tang?

Ours are. The steel runs the full length of the handle under the Micarta scales, and the guard lug is part of the blade steel itself rather than a separate piece fitted on.

What sheath do trackers come with?

A black leather sheath with a front pouch under a snap flap and straps with snaps across the front, cut for the blade's shape. Both knives also have a lined lanyard hole at the end of the handle.
