Fixed Blade Knives with Leather Sheath
People shown are AI-generated

A fixed blade knife has a blade that does not fold, so there is no hinge or lock to wear out, and it is carried in a sheath rather than a pocket. Every Bigcat knife is a fixed blade and every one ships with a leather sheath cut for it. Thirteen knives here, from an 8 inch karambit to the 14 inch Patriot, in 288-layer Damascus or D2 steel.

What is a fixed blade knife?
A knife whose blade is fixed to the handle and does not fold. The steel carries on into the handle as the tang, so there is no pivot, spring or lock between your hand and the edge. That is why fixed blades are the standard for hunting and outdoor work, and why they are carried in a sheath.
Which size do I need?
Our range falls into three sizes. The 10 inch knives have 5 to 5.3 inch blades and cover most hunting and camp jobs. The 12 to 14 inch knives have 7 to 9 inch blades for bigger work. The Karambit Desert Fox is the small one, 8 inches overall with a curved 3.5 inch blade.
Damascus or D2?
Eleven knives are 288-layer Damascus, pattern-welded from 15N20 and 1080 so the pattern runs through the blade. The other two are D2 tool steel with a clean satin finish, for anyone who wants one steel and no pattern.
What sheath comes with each knife?
Every sheath is leather and cut for its blade. Most are brown leather with contrast stitching, a crocodile-texture inlay down the front and belt carry. The Patriot's has a front pocket, both Trackers come in black leather with a front pouch, and the Karambit's is curved to follow the blade.
What handle materials do you use?
Walnut on most of the range, olive wood on one version of the Predator Hunter, black Micarta on both Trackers and black wood on the Karambit Desert Fox.
What warranty comes with a Bigcat knife?
12 months against defects in workmanship and materials, the same on the smallest karambit as on the Patriot.
